The First 50
You have started your book. Your inspiration has carried you through a pile of pages and several chapters… now what?
“The First 50” is a sounding board for you and your ideas. This service provides suggested narrative strategies based on reviewing your opening pages and discussing them during a one-hour phone consultation.
Narrative Assessment
You have finished a draft of your book. Your friends say it’s good, but is it? I will read this and provide you with an overall assessment of my opinion on your project’s viability, right now, in the publishing market.
You will receive a written assessment of your manuscript’s critical strengths and weaknesses in order to help you clarify your understanding of your audience and your expectations of publishing success.
Agent Query
You have a completed manuscript draft and wish to submit it for consideration with an agent or a publisher. What should you say? I will design your query letter and also provide you with some potential agent and publisher recipients for your submission.
Standard Copyediting
You may not have time to carefully read your manuscript for grammatical errors. This service provides careful proofing of your entire manuscript for errors in spelling, typos, and other grammatical problems.
Edits will be incorporated with Microsoft track changes. (2 Options: full manuscript or opening chapters/first 30,000 words)
Creative Copyediting
In addition to providing the services described in Standard Copyediting above, this service examines major compositional issues (such as tone, continuity, characterization).
